About Tinsinix

A campaign about not forgetting.

Not forgetting the person, the family, the carer, or the reality of living every day with a neurological condition.

One diagnosis became a national mission.

Bjorn Formosa was diagnosed with ALS in 2015 and founded ALS Malta that same year. ALS Malta describes its mission as facilitating the lives of patients suffering from neurological conditions, while raising awareness, offering support and investing in care and research.

The first DAR Bjorn opened in 2017, providing a specialised home for people with neurological conditions. ALS Malta later expanded its work with DAR Bjorn Żebbuġ.

DAR Bjorn Respite

ALS Malta describes DAR Bjorn Respite as an extension of DAR Bjorn Żebbuġ where patients will receive care and help for a defined number of days.

Why respite?

Continuous neurological care can place an enormous practical and emotional load on a family. A dedicated short-stay service can give a person specialist care in a familiar model while giving relatives a planned period of relief.

For Tinsinix 2026, this is the reason behind the fundraising: help make DAR Bjorn Respite possible.

A message from Bjorn

“Il-bżonn ma jieqaf qatt.”

Bjorn’s campaign message asks Malta to come together on 30 August, follow the telethon, tell family and friends, and give what they can.

“Tinsinix. Tinsiex lil dawk li għandhom bżonnok.”
